# Installation



## Requirements [#requirements]

* Windows 11 (64-bit), or
* macOS 15 or newer

Knosy installs per user and never asks for administrator rights: not to install, not to repair, not to uninstall.

## Install [#install]

    ### Run the installer [#run-the-installer]

    On Windows, run the Knosy installer and follow the prompts. On macOS, open the disk image and drag Knosy to Applications. Either way, the install takes under a minute.

    ### Complete the first-run setup [#complete-the-first-run-setup]

    On first launch, Knosy shows one compact setup screen. It detects Claude Code, connects it with your consent, and lets you pick your shortcut and decide whether Knosy starts at login. See [First-run setup](/docs/getting-started/setup).

## Uninstall or repair [#uninstall-or-repair]

On Windows, use **Settings → Apps** like any other application. On macOS, remove Knosy from Applications. Uninstalling also removes the integration Knosy added to Claude Code and leaves everything else in your configuration untouched.
