The scope picker

What happens when you send a first prompt before choosing a context.

View as Markdown

When the automatic scope picker is on and you send a first prompt in Claude Code or Codex without a confirmed context, Knosy holds the response just long enough for you to choose. The moment you confirm, the same prompt continues with that context: no re-sending, no second message.

The countdown

The picker opens with a visible 15-second countdown, pre-filled with the last scope you confirmed for that host and folder.

  • Confirm and the session starts with your choice.
  • Interact with Knosy (click anything, start choosing) and the countdown disappears; take the time you need.
  • Do nothing and after 15 seconds the prompt continues with your Private context, plus a notice so you know what happened.

Even after you start interacting, the wait never becomes indefinite: after two minutes the prompt continues as Private rather than leaving the host hanging.

It never gets in your way

  • Your prompt is never edited, and no scope question is ever posted into the conversation.
  • If Knosy isn't running or can't respond, your prompt goes through immediately, without the wait.
  • Only your explicit confirmation can attach a Team or Space context. Every fallback is Private.

Turning it off

Prefer to start sessions only from Knosy? Turn off the automatic scope picker in Settings. First prompts then continue as Private without any wait.
